Giovanna Osit is the Director of Operations at Kandell, Kandell & Petrie, overseeing firm-wide operations, internal systems, and team leadership. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Giovanna brings a strong work ethic, adaptability, and people-first approach to her role. Over her eight years with the firm, she has grown alongside it—professionally and personally—contributing directly to its expansion and continued success.
Giovanna began her career at Kandell, Kandell & Petrie as a legal assistant with little prior knowledge of the insurance or legal industries. Through dedication, curiosity, and mentorship from firm partners Scott Kandell and Justin Petrie, she steadily advanced within the firm.
After serving as a paralegal, she became Head of the Pre-Litigation Department, where she helped shape the department from the ground up by implementing procedures, streamlining workflows, and improving overall efficiency. Her success in middle management and her ability to lead teams through growth and change ultimately led her to her current role as Director of Operations, where she supports all departments and helps guide the firm’s long-term strategy.
Known for her strong communication skills and calm, steady presence, Giovanna excels in client relations and often de-escalates even the most challenging situations. She is dependable, solutions-oriented, and deeply invested in what is best for the firm as a whole. During her tenure, Kandell, Kandell & Petrie has grown from a small team of five employees, including the owners, to a firm of more than 30 professionals, and Giovanna has been an integral part of that growth.
In addition to overseeing operations, Giovanna has played a hands-on role in interviewing and onboarding staff, building and maintaining key business relationships, supporting firm leadership, and stepping in wherever needed to ensure the firm operates smoothly. Her ability to wear multiple hats has made her a trusted resource across all levels of the organization.
Giovanna earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in International Relations from Florida International University, where her leadership journey formally began as a founding member of the Alpha Chi Omega chapter at FIU. That experience helped shape her collaborative, people-focused leadership style and reinforced her passion for building strong 1organizations from the ground up.
Outside of work, Giovanna is married and enjoys reading, discovering new wines and gin, and cheering on the Florida Panthers. She values clear communication, dependability, and a strong work ethic, and she is deeply committed to putting clients first and ensuring overall client satisfaction—principles that guide her leadership approach and the standards she helps uphold at Kandell, Kandell & Petrie.
